I finally found some USB to PS/2 adapters that work with the Deck 82-key keyboards!

Well, I haven't actually confirmed that they work with the Deck keyboards yet as I don't have one of these Deck keyboards. I have a Dell RT7D50. The RT7D50 is a USB keyboard. I've had it for over a year now and have tried those USB to PS/2 adapters that come with Logitech, Microsoft, and other manufacturers' keyboards and none of them worked with the RT7D50 (tried one from every manufacturer and even some generic ones). I'd plug the RT7D50 into these adapters and nothing. When I booted my PC, I'd get no response whatsoever from the RT7D50 and none of the little indicators (NUM-LOCK, SCROLL-LOCK, and CAPS LOCK) would light up.

Recently, I purchased the LinksKey and Rose models I linked to above and can confirm that they work with my Dell RT7D50. The RT7D50 is fully recognized and fully functional when connected to one of these units and the unit to my PC's PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports. I've even tried it with Saitek Eclipse keyboard (which has the same problem as the Dell RT7D50 and Deck 82-key keyboards of not working with regular USB to PS/2 adapters) and it worked with the LinksKey and Rose units as well.

I'm pretty sure the Deck 82-key keyboard will work with any of these three adapters. These adapters are pricey, but hey, if you can afford a $100+ keyboard, you can afford one of these adapters if you really want to use your PS/2 ports and save a USB port or two.

I have the PUC001 and it works fine with my 82-key Deck.

I have the PUC001 and it works fine with my Deck 82-key keyboard and an Adderview KVM switch.

I have a Toxic 105 Legend

I am also using a Chaos green Razer Copperhead mouse and an ADSL Modem for my internet connection.

I have a crazy powerful PC, but when I try to use all 3 at once, I get a message saying that my USB Controller Has not got enough power to run them all.

If I get a working PS/2 Adapter, do you think this would solve my problem?

Currently I cannot use my deck and the internet at the same time

No, it sounds like you have exceeded the power available from your USB controller. You have to either move something like your modem to a different USB controller (not just a different connector) or add another controller such as a PCI USB card; the alternative would be to plug in a new USB adapter that comes with an AC power supply (wall wart type) so you have more USB power.

I have managed to sort it

All I needed to do was to leave my deck unplugged when I boot up, connect to the net and then plug it in.

Not sure why that works or makes any difference, but i'm not complaining!

I'm writing this with my legend in all it's greenish splendour

Just an update for anyone interested in which adapters will/will not work.

We purchased the Linkskey LKV-PUC01 as suggested and that adapter does work.

We also purchased the Black Box adapter. It WILL NOT work for home computers. After having a nice conversation with one of their representatives I found out that these are made for server-type KVM controls and will not function with normal home PC components (i.e. they only work with Black Box brand servers/components).

I am sure there are other adapters that work out there but this will probably be the only ones we test.
