can one change all the keycaps so it follows the dvorak layout?
(for a standard keyboard that is impossible because the caps do not have the same height or shape)

that;s the idea, the keycodes shouldn't change. When one selects dvorak keyboard layout (comes standard with windows), windows knows what to do with the existing keycodes, and translates them to the right keys.
What is important is that the keycaps are exactly the same height and size, so one can shuffle the keyboard to match the dvorak layout. According to your answer they are, so I'm happy.
