ThinkGeek has only the keyboard with the steel bottom plate. You can order an aluminum bottom plate by emailing

the aluminum does not have the diamond pattern on it, it is smooth. The weight of the diamondplate is .42 lbs and the smooth black plate is .37 lbs. Not too much different.

Excellent!
The diamondplate is cool, no doubt, but I like my keyboards as short as I can get them.
A smooth bottom plate should help a little with that.
