Hi! I'm about to pull the trigger on a Deck Legend next week, but I had a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer:

(1) If I buy the PS/2 version, will it work with a standard PS/2 to USB adapter such as this ?? I understand that I can convert it myself by switching around the cable and clipping a resistor, but I'd like to have the ability to do it in a not-so-permanent way for a short period of time if need be. I also understand that if the keyboard were USB, it would NOT work with a USB to PS/2 adapter.

(2) If I buy the PS/2 version, and then at a later time follow the procedure to convert it to a USB keyboard, would it be identical to keyboards shipped as USB, meaning that it will then have 6-key rollover?

Hi opozoid, hopefully I can answer your questions:

(1) As shown in the rules section at the top of this forum we have a thread with details on USB/PS2 adapters. Short answer: no it will not work with these adapters.

(2) If you buy the PS2 version and later convert it to a USB version it would be identical to what we ship from our factory and would have 6-key rollover.

Thank you for the response! I had actually read the rules and the threads relating to USB/PS2 adapters, but that was for the USB>>PS/2 adapter, not the other way around, PS/2>>USB, hence my question. I'll be ordering one next week... quite a bit of money which won't be coming my way until then.

Oh I see now, sorry I can't read today Our engineer confirmed that the PS2 to USB adapter will not work either, you would need to change the cable around and solder/desolder the resistor to change the interface.

Very good to know - makes it much easier to make my decision. Thank you for your help Adam! An order will be coming next week for a PS/2 Legend Ice... or wait maybe a Toxic, oh wait... I will figure it out by next week.
