Hi guys, I might get a DECK keyboard. The only thing that's stopping me is the inability of it to use the common USB to PS2 converters.

If I were to get one now, I'd get the PS2 version - for it's n-key rollover capabilities. However, I intend to use this keyboard for a really long time. If they phase out PS2 ports from motherboards in the future, I'd still want to be able to use the DECK keyboard.

So I'm planning to get a USB Deck keyboard, and DIY a USB -> PS2 adapter. I'm not going to buy one, because where I live, shipping from the USA to Singapore costs a bomb. I have good experience soldering, so I wouldn't mind cutting up some PS2 cable and USB cable and joining them together to make a DIY adapter. Problem is, I'll need a pin-out or schematic of both the USB and PS2 jacks so I know which cables to solder together - if that's even possible.

Making an adapter as you speak of probably wont work.

On the other hand, your Deck already has the ability to be converted from PS2 to USB and vice versa. Basically the cable that is used on a Deck Legend is a PS2 plug on one end and a USB plug on the other. If you are using PS2 now and want to switch to USB later all you need to do is flip the cable and clip out one small resistor (alternatively if you go from USB to PS2 you need to solder that resistor back in).
