I have a deck legend 105 key tactile with an LED on my numpad 6 key which is usually out when I boot. I'd say 2/3rds of my boots (for the entire time the system is up), the LED is out. Is there a probable cause that can be corrected easily? The LED clearly isn't broken as it comes on sometimes...

In general, this is usually due to an LED with an incomplete solder joint or a defective LED. This may be fixed by either re-soldering the LED or replacing it with a new one.
