I'm highly considering getting a Deck when they come back into stock in December. However, my purchase is reliant on being able to implement a mod that's rolling around in my head: I want to replace all the LEDs with UV LEDs.
Having very little modding experience and even less dealing with replacing LEDs with those of a different current, I was wondering if someone might have some advice for me? I assume it is possible to replace the stock LEDs when they go out, but how might I replace them with completely different LEDs? I personally think it would look better on the 82 (because of the clear case option), but I'm willing to put the work in on a Legend.
Thank you in advance for your time, and if I get this UV theme up and running I'll be sure to post pics!

I toyed around with this same idea. And while it is most definitely possible, it is also very harmful over time. The single LEDs may not give off that much UV light each, but imagine 82 being lit, under your hand for hours, days, weeks, months, years. An electrician friend of mine said it best when I asked him about it; "Would you sleep in a tanning bed for years if it were turned to only 5% power?... of course you wouldn't, you'll cook your skin, literally". I would suggest Blue or Purple LEDs, or a checkerboard pattern of Blue+Purple. They are safe and the purple very similar in color, but don't make things "glow" like a Blacklight (UV). -Trizzor
