Thats my favorite line from the first article. And people say our products are somewhat expensive!

Personally I would equate owning one of those to an expensive sports/luxury car or something to that effect: its big, its pretty, its expensive, its a status symbol, but even though it has alot of bells and whistles it still isn't extremely useable or practical for daily use. Plus if you hooked up something that expensive to a cheap PC it would be like taking the expensive car through the drive thru at Taco Bell.

I think that board is a nice dream but I would rather take my $1490 and buy a $1390 computer and a Deck to hook up to it!

I agree Adam, I was one of the 1st to pre order a Mini-3 from them, i think it is a fun toy. I don't see this technology surpassing normal keyboards for now. I bought it because I like to play with new technology (It's the Electronics Engineer in me.)

Plus I seem to recall didn't one of the TG3 guys say they've made similar keyboards before? and they cost a lot. I also remember the TG3 person saying the suggested cost of $400 or so was an underestimate. It seems TG3 person was right! (I forget who said it)

I've been following these for awhile. They are a neat idea. But the biggest problem I see with them, besides the incredibly high price tag is the life span, which I've read is only about 5000 hours on the OLEDs, that's not very long (a few years for most people). And all the dust getting underneath the key covers, messing up the pretty screens, no thanks.

Also the Mini 3 suffers from a lack of third party software and templates (the reason I didn't buy one) which will likely be the case with the full size version given it's price tag and small user base, but we'll see. I'll stick with my Toxic Legend 105 which will probably be around long after these optimus boards start failing. People gasp at the cost for a Deck, I think these Optimus boards are going to be a really tough sell.

Now, if Deck would just make a Legend 105 with RGB LEDs and user configurable colors, that would be the ticket. I'd pay double the price for that (hint hint).
