Say I have the brightness of the LEDs set to level 4. I shut down my computer and then turn it back on. Will the brightness still be at level 4? Or does it default to level 7 (full brightness) or level 0 (LEDs off)?
Also how is the brightness controlled? Say if full brightness level 7 is full 3.2v is a brightness of level 3 a lesser voltage (say around 2.2v)?
Thanks

The 105 key Deck Legend has non-volatile memory that saves your backlighting level when you shut down your computer or unplug the keyboard. The 82 key does not have this feature and thus the level will reset.
Brightness is controlled by limiting the current (milliamps), not the voltage.

Thanks for the quick reply, Adam.
I am interested in the Deck 82. I am still undecided about the linear key switches and small form factor though. I think I will be OK with the size as my netbook is a Dell mini 9 and I do not have a problem typing on it. I also have a Cherry ML4100 coming off ebay just to make sure this size will work.
My desktop has a Focus 2001 with the Alps tactile switches that I have used for the last 8 to 10 years. So, I dont know how I will react to the linear switches in the Deck. (I also have a couple of Cherry switch keys coming from Digikey, one blue and one black, to get an idea of the feel.)
