This is a stupid thread, but I truly am stuck!

I am planning on constructing a PC with a window and some blue lights in it and I am attracted to both the Blue and Green LED keyboards....

Which one should I get? Blue to match or green? Both look great and I can't decide

Do you have a particular case in mind? What color is the case?

Are you set on having blue lights inside the case?

Personally I am a fan of having a very clean look to things so my personal preference would be to keep blue with blue and only go green if you plan on having green lights in the case and not blue.

The case would be a Thermaltake Tsunami in Black.

Thats an awesome case, always one of my favorites. I like the front panel shape especially.

As Max said though stick with blue on blue unless you plan on changing the LED's/fans to green to match a green board. If you think about it, it would probably be the only green TT around but it's up to you how much work you want to put into it.

Not to get off slightly off topic here, but how much work is it really to change LEDs like that? I'm going to start building a new PC soon that I want in all red but so much stuff comes in blue now that it's hard to find what I want in red all the time.

Chances are, the case I get will have blue or green LEDs for the HDD and such, so really, how much work is that?

Also, and this is more off-topic part...I have an external HD enclosure that has blue "bubble" lights all around it, but I'd like to make those red as well. Is this fairly easy? I know I can get those bubble lights in red, but I wasn't sure if they can just be replaced or what?

Pretty much anything can be modified as long as you understand the technology you are working with. Or if you don't understand, patience, money, and willingness to break alot of stuff in the process is good too.

LED's are extremely easy to change. The hard part most of the time is separating them from their respective housings which usually seal the LED's into them using glue or cheap plastic fasteners. I can't count how many front panels to cases I have broken being extremely gentle in this process. But don't let that deter you...everything can usually be fixed as long as you don't go Incredible Hulk on things.

As far as the 'bubble lights' I can't say because I have little to no clue as to exactly what you are talking about. If you can give a link to the product somewhere we could maybe help further.

And as far as a link to sites about modding, I personally prefer the 'hands on' method...and yes I break alot of stuff but thats how I learn best. However, if you just Google for things like case mods or case modding you should find some good sites to start (and to show the extremes).

Well, I had read someplace that different LEDs took different voltages, so I wasn't sure if that could be an issue. My extent of "modding" was installing an afterburner in my old GBA and doing a "cap kit" on the monitor in my SFII arcade.

I just want to try chainging the blue ones with red. I can't find a full red external enclosure anywhere...I found some with both red and blue, but none that are just red.

Maybe I was mistaken before. You DO have to find the voltage for different LEDs. I thought you just meant are they physically easy to change. Here's a short example of the electronics behind them:

As far as the external enclosure, it's hard to tell from the pictures how large the new lights will be, but as long as you only have a hard drive in that enclosure I think it will work with very little problem.
