Do these Deck keyboards work with USB to PS/2 adapters?

Deck has not yet found a suitable stand-alone adapter. Be careful with USB to PS/2 adapters! I believe that most (if not all) of these adapters were meant to be replacement adapters for original equipment that supports both USB and PS/2 interfaces (The standard Deck 82 key only supports USB); these adapters will not simply convert any generic USB keyboard into a generic PS/2 keyboard. To date, the adapters that we’ve examined simply map "USB D-" to "PS/2 Data" and "USB D+" to "PS/2 Clock" (as well as +5V to +5V and gnd to gnd).

I'm not quite following. So why won't it work? I've used generic USB to PS/2 and the ones that have come with my past Logitech and Microsoft keyboards with a number of different keyboards and they've all worked.

Basically, if the keyboard supports the PS2 interface, you can use the adapter. This means all your old keyboards such as the Logitechs and Microsofts supported PS2 as well as USB as an original interface. However our current Deck keyboards do not support any other interface other than USB so the little adapters will not work.

However, we will be releasing a 105 key full-size standard layout Deck in about a month or so that will work on USB and PS2.

Does that mean you will not be updating the mini (82 key) keyboards to work with USB to PS/2 adapters?

I'm not sure but if we ever do in the future we will let everyone know.

OMG, Christmas present time. I use a PS/2 KVM switch and really prefer the larger form-factor (I gots big hands). Can't wait.

Not sure exactly, but I would guess it's because there isn't a huge demand for ergo keyboards. For example, if you go to Best Buy and take a look at the keyboards they sell, you might find 1 out of 20 are ergo form factor. We will take this into consideration for future Deck designs though.

I get that the ergo keyboard are not best for all game types (most likely RTS?) but a small-form-factor ergo board would be wunderbar. Break the NumPad off as a separate (but packaged together) piece and you've got a pretty sweet setup.

I've been using various incarnations of MS Natural keyboards for years now and have become quite accustomed to fast no-glance typing for general use... but I swear I have the damndest time with the top-row number keys and F-keys when I'm playing at night in the dark to avoid screen glare and perceived washout.
