I'm looking at the photos on the site and the colors seem very different for 105 key Legends than 82 key Decks. It may be my monitor or the black casing. I'm also aware that capturing the true colors is very hard.
Fire looks pinkish, Gold looks yellower (light). I can go for Fire if it's pink (or it really looks pink in black casing as in the picture). I can go for Gold if the color is the same as my Deck Gold (not the way it looks in the picture).
In summary, are the leds used in 105 key Legends and 82 key Decks the same and/or do they look different?
Thanks.
Best regards,
Burak

The LEDs in the new Legend are exactly the same as the ones in the 82 key Decks. When taking pictures for the website, I only had a blue Legend to photograph so I had to photoshop the other colors for the time being. I will get better pictures posted shortly when we actually build those colors. I apologize for any confusion, and I will fix this asap.

Hi,
I have a Deck Gold, to my eye, the keys glow more amber/orange than yellow (as in the links). The led colors match the case color, whole keyboard seems one color - rather than two ...
I don't know if this will help, it's a very subjective matter afterall...
Best regards,
Burak

I too am ready to order and cannot decide between colors. I am well aware that photography and monitor representations may result in colors and brightness that are not true to life. Oh, for a store nearby to feel...touch...and see! I am legally blind and partially color blind. I have difficulty with blues and reds when surfing the web.
I like the 3800 mc luminous intensity of the green relative to the other colors. It also is centered on the eye's sensitivity curve. But it looks so dim in the pics.
The gold looks like the best contrast in the pics, even though it is close to half the luminous intensity of the green. But is it in real life?
I've searched the web and appreciate davebot 0.9's links.
DeckGuy Adam, which color has the best contrast/brightness?

The best idea I can give you in a picture would be to look at the pictures of the 82/21 key combo packages. (Here are links for the colors: Gold , Fire, Ice, and ToXiC). The colors those photos give off are about as close as you are going to get on the web (albeit the legends on the keycaps look semi-washed-out due to the nature of photographing light up keyboard in the dark). We are closed here at the Deck factory on weekends so hopefully next week I will get better pics of the other colors of the Legend.
In my opinion, the ToXiC Deck contrasts the best and is the brightest, followed by Ice, Gold, and Fire. Fire, because it is red, is ultimately the easiest on the eyes as far as long-term use. Bob - because of your eyesight issue you may want the ToXiC or Ice. Other than that, to me it's just a color preference thing. I think they all look great!

Thanks Adam. Responding on the weekend! You guys rock.
I think what I notice in the Web pics is that the colors you list as brightest tend to illuminate the non-legend / background part of the key more. So to my eye, the Fire's characters look like they come out of a background that's blacker than those of the ToXiC, which seem to have a very slight green illumination. I think this makes the Fire's contrast look sharp. Or is this just an artifact of the photography process? I know it's hard to get good pictures of illuminated equipment. Perhaps I'm just noticing that the ToXiC is brighter? By the way, I'm assuming that all these shots are with the brightness at its highest setting.
Thanks,
--David

Thank you so much DeckGuy Adaam. Those pics don't happen on my PC. I click on the little pic but nothing happens. The pics in davebot 0.9's links were more revealing. The only reason I was down on green is that it looked so dim in the blowup selection of keys on the toxic page of the website.
Thanks in particular for your saturday reply.

If the little pics don't enlarge, check your pop-up blockers and/or firewall settings. We had a problem at Deck with our firewall for a while stopping the pop-up picture from happening. Just a thought.
Also about the colors bleeding through the legends - that is mostly a photography artifact. The color really shouldn't bleed through the keycap in the sections that are supposed to be black.
And lastly about davebot's links to those pics - I'm not entirely sure those photographs haven't been photoshop'ed. But yes they are extremely close as far as the color is concerned.

I tried taking a few photos of my Gold Deck. I must admit I was not able to capture how it looks.
Pics are not touched at all, just resized. Both are at the same brightness (highest), though they look quite different:
http://www.manitugroup.com/gold_deck1.jpg
In this one, the glow looks yellow, very bright, but it's not actually how the eye sees it, real glow color is not yellow-white, it's more like neon amber...
http://www.manitugroup.com/gold_deck2.jpg
In this one, it looks dim, though the color of the glow, I'd say, is more correct. There's a light source under every key, so in reality every key looks more bright (and in uniform color, unlike in the pic).
As a result, I agree with DeckGuy Adam, the photo at
http://www.deckkeyboards.com/catalog/im ... _large.jpg
is probably the best you can get on web, and the key colors do look abit washed out there.
Hope this helps someone.
Best regards,
Burak

I respect and trust your on the scene view over pics.
I like toxic so I ordered it Saturday. The Ice is nice and my wife (We share the PC) prefers it. However, my eyesight is not too happy with blue.
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the feedback, and Bob if you want to use things like quote, url's, etc. in your posts just make sure the little check box that says 'Disable BBCode in this post' is NOT checked. I fixed your post so it works.

Colors look dead on to me. I'm using an LCD monitor. Why aren't you?
