Got my gold legend a week ago. It works great but, I see there is some light leakage around some of the labels on the keycaps. What's the best way to fix this? (aside from carefully applying a little flat black paint)

Yes some of the keycaps may show a little light peeking through. The keycaps are made in a two part process and the light you are seeing is coming through where the two parts come together. Right now there is no other way to make this keycap.

Paint or nail polish is the best solution. But the trick way to do it is to remove the keycap and apply it to the underside of the keycap - just avoid the area where the letter is or you wont see it anymore! This way the paint you apply won't wear off and you won't even see it once you put the keycap back on.

EDIT: WE HAVE FOUND THAT APPLYING THE NAIL POLISH DIRECTLY TO THE TOP OF THE KEYCAP IN THE GAP AREA AND WIPING THE EXCESS AWAY IS THE BEST METHOD.

safe and quick way to remove keycaps? Don't want to muck one up.

One of the better and easier ways to remove them without an actual keycap puller that we include with our accesory keycap sets is to fashion something similar out of a paperclip. Below is an example:



The trick is to have the legs about the same length and the little barbs at the end as short as possible, maybe 0.25" or so. This makes it easier to get them underneath the keycap and pull upwards evenly so you don't break the switch underneath.

The best advice I can give is to just be gentle and patient and they should come off very easily.
