Most people take the housing off their Deck™ board and paint the underside. (Follow the instructions for How to disassemble/reassemble your Deck™to remove the housing of your Deck™.)

You can Mod any Deck™ you want, but remember, black Deck™s are not translucent (the light doesn't show through). So if you want to Mod a black Deck™, paint the housing on the outside. We sell a clear plastic housing for the Deck™. Probably the best choice for massive makeovers.

REMEMBER! Don't paint over the letters and numbers on your keycaps. If you do, the light will not shine through. (Duh.)

PAINT: Your Deck™is made of polycarbonate plastic. Go to a hobby store and look for paints that work on that. (It'll say right on the can.) One brand name we recommend is Lexan R.

If you use a paint that is not recommended for polycarbonate, it will degrade the plastic. You might get some cool effects. You might not. Use at your own risk.

Our Deck™s can take a beating, and painting them won't hurt them. Our lawyers want you to know though, that once you Mod your Deck™, the UL and FCC regulations no longer hold.
